Communications Director - Center for Health Information & Analysis (CHIA)

The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA), an independent state agency striving to make complex and dynamic health care information meaningful to a wide variety of audiences, is seeking a Communications Director who is ready to build a strong brand and a strong voice around principles like reliability, relevancy, and objectivity. The Communications Director will work closely with an engaged senior leadership, oversee a staff of five, finalize and implement a redesign of an interactive website, develop and supervise CHIA’s publishing process, and manage the agency’s web, social media, and press operations. The Director will also be responsible for building new ways of working with CHIA analysts, authors, and other content creators to realize the vision of the CHIA brand.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Extensive background in communications, with at least five years of experience directing communications teams responsible for publishing, creative strategy, web and social media, and press
  • Hands on experience developing, producing, and distributing publications
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and presentations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiarity with U.S./Massachusetts health care system
  • At least five years of experience directing multi-platform communications teams strongly preferred
