This excludes procedures performed within the emergency department (ED). Most hospital outpatient procedures (99 percent) fall into one of seven categories: Cardiovascular, Eye, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal, Nervous System, Skin.
Hospitals participating in the Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR) Program submit this data through a web-based tool.
