Position Announcement: Staff Service Fellow (GS-12/13 equivalent) or Junior Service Fellow (GS-11 equivalent)

The Center for Delivery, Organizations, and Markets (CDOM), in the Department of Health and Human Services’ Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, is recruiting an experienced social science analyst.

The Service Fellow serves as a technical expert on AHRQ’s Priority #4: Improve Health Care Affordability, Efficiency, and Cost Transparency. As a member of the team, the Service Fellow provides technical expertise, directly and through monitoring contracts and grants with a focus on comparative health care systems and health systems efficiency. The Service Fellow’s activities focus on the initiative to identify health system characteristics associated with efficiency and to understand factors that have led to observed system performance.

Major assignments involve participating in program planning, carrying out complex technical data analyses; implementing project tasks; monitoring program activities; preparing reports and presenting results and recommendations. Typical activities may include: draft executive summaries and updates of research projects; carry out data analyses for policy and research; coordinate and/or convene regular meetings (virtual or in-person) with leaders and researchers and with stakeholders and research users in government and elsewhere; assist with activities to facilitate cross-project coordination; implement and assist with dissemination activities related to new developments and findings on health care quality, affordability, efficiency, and cost transparency.
