Press Release: NAHDO's Executive Director Retirement

After almost 20 years as NAHDO’s Executive Director, Denise Love is planning to retire from this position by the end of 2019.  Since 2000, Ms. Love has forged data partnerships with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, assisted in the recruitment of states to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project, represented state interests in the HIPAA Administrative Simplification and Privacy regulations, and advocated for facility and claims data reporting systems in many states.

As states advance their implementation of All-Payer Claims Databases (APCDs), state health data agencies and NAHDO are at an exciting turning point and face a new set of opportunities as well as challenges. A change in leadership at this time will help set the course for addressing these.
A leadership transition will consist of a national recruitment, candidate review and selection, and eventual on-boarding of the new Executive Director.  During this transition period, Ms. Love will continue in her role as NAHDO’s Executive Director, providing membership support and project oversight until a new Executive Director is identified.
