    Mission Statement (PROPOSED):

    To promote the use of administrative data for the public reporting of quality; infection reporting initiatives; and responding to emerging demands for new measures (e.g. nurse staffing, pricing); and represent state issues in the national quality agenda. 


    Objectives (PROPOSED):

    • Serve as a national advisory council to states and to quality and patient safety organizations, regarding quality public reporting and health care transparency.
    • Advise states on quality and patient safety indicators to be used for state- and/or nation-wide monitoring and reporting.
    • Identify opportunities and promote collaborative strategies to improve the public reporting of quality and patient safety information.
    • Represent states in the overall national quality and patient safety dialogue.
      Develop position statements regarding quality public reporting and health care transparency.
    • Share best practices, lessons learned and overall knowledge among members, for transfer to their respective organizations.
       

    Membership:

    • NAHDO Staff –  (Denise Love, MBA; Gulzar H. Shah, MStat, MSS, PhD;  Barbara Rudolph, PhD)
    • State representatives actively involved in public reporting initiatives
    • Private organizations (hospital associations, business coalitions, private data organizations) actively involved in public reporting initiatives, either as advisory members to state panels and/or as partners in state initiatives
    • Other organizations (vendors and consultants with experience and expertise in the applied aspects of public reporting
