    The Public Health Data Standards Consortium is seeking candidates for the newly established full-time position of Associate Director, Business Development and Operations. This position is supported through grants and cooperative agreements and is contingent upon ongoing funding.
     
    The Consortium is a national non-profit (501(c)(3)) membership-based organization of federal, state and local health agencies, national and local professional associations, academia, public and private sector organizations, international members, and individuals dedicated to promoting the use of health information technology (HIT) standards in public health information exchanges.     The Associate Director, Business Development and Operations is the officer of the organization directly responsible for the on-going planning, development, and implementation of project-specific activities associated with the Consortium’s programs, grants and contracts necessary to achieve the Consortium’s mission, goals, and objectives. The programs, grants and contract activities are focused on representing public health interests at the national Health Information Technology (HIT)/Health Information Exchange (HIE) standardization effort including standards development, harmonization, certification, trial implementation and adoption; and developing communication strategies for project-related activities. The Associate Director, Business Development and Operations will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Consortium implementing assigned project activities directly and in conjunction with other program staff, consultants, and contracted vendors.
     
    The candidate must have substantial knowledge and experience with project management, HIT standards, public health informatics, privacy and security of public health information, health care information systems and applications, regional health information exchanges and the Nationwide Health Information Network. Experience with public speaking, writing and teaching public health professionals on these topics is a must. The candidate must also posses demonstrated experience in managing governmental contracts and grants, managing personnel and working effectively with public and private sector partners. A proven track record of writing proposals and successful completion of work under the governmental grants and contracts is essential. An advanced degree in a health care related field (i.e., MPH, MHA, MBA or other) is required. Eligibility to teach and do research at the university level is desired. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
