RWJF is sponsoring NAHDO’s work on “State Healthcare Quality Reporting: Increasing Consistency in Public Reporting Across States”, providing ongoing support to states on issues related to healthcare quality measurement and reporting, accomplished through The Quality Reporting Workgroup (QRW). The QRW consists of approximately 80 professionals who are either directly responsible for developing and disseminating quality of care reports in a state or community, or are interested in such reporting. The Workgroup members are subscribed to the Workgroup Listserv.
NAHDO activities during Year 2, designed to promote public reporting of quality of care by state agencies, included: regular monthly QRW calls; representing NAHDO members on national quality reporting initiatives; ongoing building and improvement of the Toolkit website http://nahdo.org/CS/forums/t/235.aspx on quality reporting; two highly-attended in-person workshops in Washington D.C. and San Diego; and Listserv discussions among the subscribers on various quality reporting topics.
The RWJ Quality Work Group Website http://nahdo.org/cs/qualityworkgroup/ has been populated with resources related to quality reporting.
Through this project, NAHDO has been a member of the National Quality Forum, representing health data agencies. NAHDO advocated for, and succeeded, in getting the NQF to establish a Public/Community Health Agency Council. To promote the convergence of national and state quality reporting efforts, NAHDO nominated several of our workgroup members to serve on the Readmission Technical Advisory Panel (TAP); Denise Love (NAHDO) served on the Healthcare-acquired Infection Public Reporting TAP and the Additional Hospital Priorities Public Reporting TAP, and was elected to serve as Vice-chair of the new Public Health/Community Health Council.
To keep our members abreast of their peers’ quality reporting initiatives, NAHDO compiles quality reports produced by various states at: (Pls CHECK LINK) http://www.nahdo.org/qualityreports.aspx
