    Job Class Code: 0767                                     Salary: $49,192.00 - $67,683.20  AGENCY INFORMATION:   The Dirigo Health Agency was created as the administrative agency of the Dirigo Health Reform Act of 2003 to improve healthcare cost, quality, and access in Maine.  The Maine Quality Forum exists within the Dirigo Health Agency.  Its mission includes:  collection and dissemination of research regarding healthcare quality, evidence-based medicine, and patient safety;  promotion of best practices;  adoption of quality and performance metrics to form the basis of data collection by the Maine Health Data Organization; preparation of reports on comparative care quality information; consumer education; technology assessment including evaluation of certificate of need application; facilitation and encouragement of adoption of electronic technology; participation in development and reiteration of Maine’s State Health Plan. 

     

    Description: The Dirigo Health Agency is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Maine Quality Forum (MQF).  This is professional services work of a managerial nature in directing, administering, and overseeing a specialized segment of health services quality research and evaluation including collection and dissemination of research, reporting on comparative care quality information, consumer healthcare education, technology assessment, and best practice promotion and promulgation. Responsibilities include developing program goals and objectives, monitoring program progress, administering grants, seeking funding, consulting with other service providers, and coordinating the various aspects of the MQF. Work is performed under limited supervision. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, teaming, problem solving, consensus building, meeting and project management skills are essential. 

     

    Minimum Qualifications:   A Bachelors Degree in Public Health or Health Sciences, Health Education, one of the Behavioral Sciences, Public Administration, or Education – AND- three (3) years experience in health program planning, development, implementation, and evaluations -OR- an equivalent seven (7) year combination of education, training, and experience.
