The Wisconsin Health Information Exchange (www.whie.org) has retained Quick Leonard Kieffer to conduct the search for their Executive Director.
The Wisconsin Health Information Exchange (WHIE) is a Regional Health Information Exchange (or Regional Health Information Organization).
WHIE was created in 2005 to provide a system where diverse stakeholders collaborate to enable secure, confidential exchange of timely, accurate electronic health information between authorized users. WHIE is a collaborative organization overseen by a broad-based board of advisors. Its members include hospitals, outpatient clinical practices, skilled nursing facilities, other healthcare professional groups, laboratories, imaging centers, pharmacies, private health plans, ERISA plans, government plans, public health agencies, researchers or other data users, patient advocate organizations, professional associations, and corporate or philanthropic organizations.
The WHIE system is supported by federal directives to establish an interoperable national health information infrastructure. Southeast Wisconsin was one of nine recipients of funding from the national Connecting Communities for Better Health program to develop production systems and establish best practices that can then be shared across the state and country. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director of WHIE will be responsible for the overall administration and management of the organization. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced executive to join a cutting edge organization and have a dramatic effect on the quality, safety, efficiency, and accessibility of healthcare and public health.
